Introduction

This project is part of the User Interfaces for Augmented Environments project set. Please read that page for an introduction to this research.

Project

The goal of this project is to think about how users will interact with one or more of the devices in an augmented environment. You could select a single device (e.g., a wall-sized 3D display, or a see-through head-worn display) and investigate the interaction techniques for that device, select a combination of devices and investigate techniques that would blend them into a single interaction space (e.g., a wall-size 3D display and a number of users with see-through head-worn displays), or look at issues related to an environment with an open-ended set of devices.

Here is what you need to do.

  1. Read the papers that will be provided by Dr. MacIntyre based on the devices you are interested in examing
  2. Decide on the particular devices you would like to consider.
  3. Meet with Dr. MacIntyre regularly to discuss your emerging ideas.
  4. Propose a set of interaction techniques for your devices, comparing and contrasting them with what others have done.
