CS 3630 Spring ’13: Introduction to Robotics and perception

This site provides information on the CS 3630 course ”Introduction to Robotics and Perception”, to be taught in the Spring 2013 Semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This is an introductory robotics course offered by the College of Computing.

The course covers the fundamental problems and the leading solutions in robot perception, planning, and control. Topics are approached primarily from the point of view of autonomous robot navigation -- what and how must a robot perceive the world, and how can it use that information to navigate effectively? The Spring 2013 edition will be extra exciting, with assignments based on the Pololu 3pi robot, the WoWee Rovio, the ShadowX Pincher arm, Willow Garage’s turtlebot, and the popular Parrot AR-Drone Quadrotor platform. The latter will be made available to student groups formed on per-assignment basis.
