Research positions available
Posted Nov 20, 2010.
Three postdoctoral positions (starting immediately)
are available in George Biros's group in
the School of Computational Science and Engineering. Each of the
three positions will focus on a separate subject matter: (1)
high-performance computing ; (2) numerical algorithms for inverse
problems; and (3) algorithms for medical imaging.
* Candidates interested in position one (HPC) must have some
background in computational mathematics and a strong background in
parallel algorithms and programming in C++/MPI/CUDA. The application
focus will be on multiscale methods for problems in computational
physics and statistical inference.
* Candidates interested in position two (inverse problems) must
have a strong background in computational mathematics. Excellent
knowledge of either MATLAB or C++ is also necessary. The application
focus will be on statistical estimation algorithms for acoustic and
elastic scattering.
* Candidates interested in position three (medical imaging) must have
a strong background in numerical algorithms in medical imaging: e.g.,
segmentation, registration, and classification. Programming experience
in C++ is required.
Successful candidates will have excellent collaborative opportunities
within a diverse group of researchers and subject areas, including
data analytics high performance computing, computational mathematics
and medical imaging.
The positions are open for an initial duration of one year, starting
immediately, and will be renewable to up to three years.
Interested applicants should email a curriculum vitae and a research
statement (no more than 2 pages in length) to George Biros
(www.cc.gatech.edu/~gbiros)
