MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE PC MEETING We need two booklets for the meeting: Review Book and Review Summaries. We also need one copy of reviews of all papers The Books Both books need to be personalized for each PC member. The information should be printed in two columns, and should be two sided except the start of a new review or new information (more description below). I'll describe what we need for each of them. ----------- Review Book ----------- This book should be bound in a spiral binder. Front Cover ----------- The front cover clearly states the PC member for whom the book has been personalized. Last year, the cover was see-through and plastic, and the front page was visible through it. Another approach is to use a heavier cover for the front, and put the information there. The front cover contains the following: ICSE 2001 Review Book for November 11-12, 2000 This material has been personalized for . I should not be read by others. Rest of Book ------------ The rest of the book contains the numerically ordered reviews for each paper that we'll discuss, excluding those papers for which the PC member has a conflict. (We won't know which papers we'll be discussing until around the first of November.) The reviews can be printed two-sided but the reviews of each paper should begin on what would be the front of the page so that PC members can quickly find paper reviews during the meeting. Note: I sent sample copies of this information to Steve a while back, and recently he told me he still had it. If you need for me to resend samples, let me know. ---------------- Review Summaries ---------------- This book will be much smaller and could be stapled. Front Cover (similar to Review Book) ----------- The front cover clearly states the PC member for whom the book has been personalized. Last year, the cover was just stapled to the rest of the book. The front cover contains the following: ICSE 2001 Review Summaries for November 11-12, 2000 This material has been personalized for . I should not be read by others. Rest of Book ------------ This book contains several types of summaries that are useful during the PC meeting. 1. PC summary: reviews This page contains a listing of all the papers reviewed by the PC member along with a summary of the reviews. For those papers that will be discussed, there is an "*" beside the paper; for those papers for which the PC member will be the advocate, there is an "A" beside the paper. The information should be presented in two columns so it can be viewed on one page. The exact information, illustrated with an example, follows: PC Summary: Review 9 Measuring Complexity D Y A 24 Extracting Libraries B X * 150 Our Latest LPU Paper C Z For the above example, the PC member reviewed papers 9, 24, and 150. Only papers 24 and 150 will be discussed at the meeting. The PC member will act as advocate during the discussion of paper 24. 2. PC summary : conflicts This page lists the numbers and the titles of those papers for which the PC member has conflicts. An "*" marks those papers in this list that will be be discussed at the meeting. The page should also be in two-column format to be consistent and should be on a front side of the pages. Note that no review summaries are given here. The exact information, illustrated with an example, follows: PC Summary: Conflicts 8 An Empirical Study of the Review Process * 122 My ICSE submission For the above example, the PC member has conflicts on papers 8 and 122 and paper 122 will be discussed at the meeting. 3. Summaries by discussion order These pages list the summaries of the papers in the order in which they will be discussed. These pages should be two-column and two-sided; not review should extend across two pages. These pages list the paper number, the title and authors, and, for each reviewer of the paper, the overall and the confidence. For any paper that the PC member has a conflict, a "C" will be shown at the left of the paper number, and the summary evaluations will not be shown. The exact information, illustrated with an example, follows: Summaries by Discussion Order 125 Generating ... B X A Y A X 24 Extracting Libraries B X B Y B Z 150 Our Latest LPU Paper C Z A Y B X C 122 My ICSE submission For the above example, papers will be discussed in order 125, 24, 150, and 122, and the PC member has a conflict on paper 122. 4. Summaries by paper number These pages list the summaries of all papers by number. These pages should be two-column and two-sided. These pages list the paper number, the title and authors, and, for each reviewer of the paper, the overall and the confidence. Those papers that are to be discussed will have an "*" beside them. The exact information, illustrated with an example, follows: Summaries by Papers Numbers 9 Measuring Complexity D Y C Z D X * 24 Extracting Libraries B X B Y B Z 32 Our Rejected Paper D Y C X D X * 122 My ICSE submission A X B Y C Z * 125 Generating ... B X A Y A X 150 Our Latest LPU Paper C Z A Y B X For the above example, papers 9, 24, 32, 122, 125, and 150 were submitted. All but papers 9 and 32 were discussed.
