Do you know me?

[My Chinese name is Jun Xiao. I was born in Shanghai, China - a big, crowded and modern eastern city.]

[It's a Sunday in 1984. I, and five other kids, were sitting before a  TV", a TV that had a board of buttons connected to it. I was told by the teacher that we must press the right buttons in the exact order as written on the blackboard. After thirty minutes' finger punches, we finally reached the end. Button "R", button "U", button "N", and button "<---" (I know where it is now)...]

[...Wow, a big pyramid appeared on the screen!]

[The teacher then passed me a pencil, as a prize, and told me that what I typed was called a P-R-O-G-R-A-M, and the "TV" was actually a C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R and it had a name - Apple II.]

[I never played with that TV again until ten years later - I entered Fudan University, majored in Computer Science.]

[After spending four year sitting in front of a DEC VAX-11 terminal, anxiously waiting for the compiler's result, I got my bachelor's degree. In 1999 College of Computing, Georgia Tech accepted me as a Ph.D. student.]

[I am currently a member of Information Interface research group. For brief information on my research, please read my CV and Research Statement.]

[What's new?]
