Research Assistant, The Ohio State University, September 1996 to presentPast work was to develop security mechanisms for high-speed networks: (a) low-overhead authenticated signaling in ATM networks, (b) architecture and performance evaluation of a high-performance ATM firewall and its applications in Internet and Intranet security. Current work is to develop and refine the supporting technologies for the past work and apply them to the provision of Quality of Service (QoS) at very high speed (100+ Gbps) in the next-generation Internet: (a) a route cache architecture for layer-4 packet classification, (b) a flow table architecture for QoS-related router functions such as usage-based accounting, policy routing, and traffic shaping.
Research Associate, SRI International, Menlo Park, CA, June 1999 to September 1999
Worked with Dr. Peter Neumann on DARPA-sponsored EMERALD (Event Monitoring Enabling Response To Anomalous Live Disturbances) project. My responsibility was to investigate the network intrusion scenarios in TCP/IP network protocol and design the detection rules to catch the intrusion attempts.
