Hi there! My name is Lilia
Moshkina - a Russian who's lived in Atlanta, GA for what seems forever. After trying out and discarding various academic interests
- from English, French and Education to Business Administration to Computer
Information Systems, I finally settled down on Intelligent Systems and Robotics
at Georgia Institute of Technology. I'm currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Robot Mobile Lab, and Prof. Arkin is my research advisor.
In my dissertation work, I'm TAMEing robots - building a framework that
includes personality Traits, Attitudes (sentiments), Moods and Emotions for
behavior-based robotics. When I'm not busy running the robots around, I like
hiking, backpacking, biking, ice-skating, doing yoga and jiu-jitsu, traveling
all around the world and trying out other things, like snorkeling, hang-gliding,
skiing... and anything else that sounds exciting.
NEW! I'm currently working on an opinion survey on
the Use of Robots Capable of Lethal Force in Warfare. Check it out at http://www.cc.gatech.edu/projects/robotsurvey/mrl.html!
