I joined Georgia Tech's College of Computing in 2003 as an assistant professor. I received my PhD in Computer Science from Yale University in 2002. For the '03-'04 academic year, I was on leave at Intel's Microarchitecture Research Laboratory (MRL) in Austin, TX.

 News

  • Samantika Subramaniam has won a prestigious Intel Fellowship!
  • Kiran Puttaswamy successfully defended his thesis and graduated (Dec 2007). He is now working at Intel in Austin, TX.
  • Our MICRO 3D paper and tutorial were written up on RealWorldTech, and then resummarized on ArsTechnica.
  • We had a great ISCA ice hockey game this year against the STOC crowd during FCRC in San Diego. Photos have been posted thanks to Diana Franklin and Cathy McGeoch. Plan on more ice hockey at ISCA2009...
 Research

My research area is in computer architecture, with an emphasis on high-performance processor microarchitecture. I am interested in anything having to do with making current and future processors faster, more powerful and more efficient.

Current projects include working on High-Performance High-Efficiency Microarchitectures, 3D Microarchitectures, and other "traditional" Microarchitecture techniques.
