Update (May 08): Initial course page posted.
General Description: This is a intermediate-level course, part of the Platforms Thread requirements, that follows the CS2200 course. The goal of the course is to introduce the student to the many design aspects involved in using software and hardware for rapid prototyping. We will make use of FPGA (field-programmable gate arrays) boards to implement a substantial project. The details are still being worked out (depending on the type and quantity of hardware donations), but the goal is to design, implement, optimize, verify and validate a power-efficient and relatively high performance microprocesor-based system for a modern media-based application (possibilities include MP3 playback or maybe h.264 video decoding). More details will be posted on this page as the summer progresses, so keep checking back!

Required Reading: TBD.
