Work Experience

Summer 2006 Worldspan, L.P.

Intern

Research autonomic performance management in Worldspan’s ePricing engine. Research from January to August 2006 included trace analysis and on-site experimentation with production software as well as interviewing product managers and lead developers to collect domain expertise. Results published in one major conference paper, two technical reports, and one journal paper under submission.

Intern

· Review several enterprise systems for opportunities to provide higher level of access to business ad-hoc users in a production revenue reporting system.

· Advisory role in redesigning their main web portal around SOA using JBI standards.

8/2002 – present College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology

Graduate Research Assistant

Research performance isolation issues in information flow enterprise systems with application to WebSphere Application Server. Project included hacking the IIOP in Websphere V5 and V6 by a combination of reverse compilation and constructor injection to apply the required modifications. Results showed 56% improvement in response time under adverse operating conditions. Duties also included running Websphere ND on research cluster.

8/1995 - 8/2002 Manugistics, Atlanta, GA

Lead Software Developer

Responsibilities included design and implementation of enterprise systems using C++, Java, and J2EE. Sample projects included leading a team to design and implement a C++ data caching layer (team of 4, 8 months) and leading a team on integrating a backend CORBA C++ server with a Weblogic J2EE front-end (team of 2, 6 months).

Other responsibilities included running the team’s internal database engines (DB2 and Oracle) as well as training quality assurance and testing personnel on database administration tasks.
