RESEARCH
My primary interested areas are distributed computing, information management, data integration,
and very large scale database systems in the internet environment.
In data management, I am interested in distributed transaction
processing, metadata, and knowledge discovery. Today, information
is no longer stored in one place, it is instead distributed
over a large network where all datasources could be connected,
which then poses many challenges for scientists to solve
as well as opens many opportunities for them to redefine the
way of managing and sharing data. In this field,
I find that middleware and web service (cloud computing) have potentially
significant impacts on the information system in terms of data management, integration, and mining in the near future.
