I am a graduate student at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta pursuing the Masters Program in Human Computer Interaction. Prior to Georgia Tech, I received my Bachelor of Design (B.Des) degree with a specialisation in Communication Design from the Department of Design (DoD), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.
I feel that today computers and various technological gadgets have meshed all aspects of our lives in such a way that the interactions between humans and gadgets are going to be much more ubiquitous and complex. I believe that we can have a better future only if we can make these interactions as simple, natural and seamless as possible.
The above facts make the fields of Interaction Design & Human Computer Interaction (HCI) very important and challenging. I am very interested in tackling these challenges and am confident that they can be tackled appropriately only by taking a user centered design approach. Hence, I am looking forward to become an integral part of dynamic interdisciplinary teams dedicated to research & design of user-centered interaction experiences.
Had a great summer internship at Yahoo! Research Berkeley where I had the opportunity to work on some cool projects. I tried to mention a few of them here.
Our work on the project "Wigglestick - a social navigation system" got accepted for a demo and as a position paper for the CHI'07 conference workshop on Mobile Spatial Interaction.
Our tangible media project "Flora Electronica: Garden as a performance space" as a part of the course in Experimental Media was on public display on April 6th at the Eyedrum during the Listening Machines 2007 exhibition.
