Research

I have succsefully defended my PhD and have started a post-doc in Jan Peters lab at TU Darmstadt. My new website is available here.

For my PhD I worked with Aaron Bobick and Jim Rehg on the problem of affordance learning for autonomous mobile robots. I am interested in building perception systems tightly coupled with the manipulation strategies at hand. Primarily my work focuses on tabletop manipulation strategies using the PR2 robot.

From 2006-2009 I was a member of the Northern Bites SPL RoboCup team advised by Eric Chown. We won in 2007, placed third in 2008, and were runner-up in 2009.

In the Fall of 2008 I worked with two other Bowdoin students on a computer forensics project for the Maine State Police. This got some press.
