COURSE DESCRIPTION: This one credit hour course provides an introduction to the "bleeding edge" of computer science research. College of Computing faculty will lead lectures from all key research fields. The emphasis is on exposing students to some of the research problems they might work on while pursuing a graduate degree in computer science. The course will also cover grad school application strategies and timing, as well as special topics like how to write a statement of purpose and how to earn stellar recommendations from faculty. This course is a component of the CoC's UROC program.

PREREQUISITES: Sophomore standing

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE? Students who are considering graduate work in computer science.
