This is Vijay Murali (call me Vijay) from the South Indian coastal city of Chennai. The city where I spent the first 21 years of my life and holds a ton of my memories.
I am a graduate student in the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology
in Atlanta, GA and currently enrolled in the Master of Science program at Georgia Institute of Technology,
specializing in Information Security. I joined in the Fall of 2010 and plan to graduate by the
Spring of 2012 at the latest.
In April 2010, I graduated from Anna University, Chennai with a Bachelor of Technology degree, specializing in
Information Technology.
I am passionate about developing software and web applications, with a practical or real world impact. By this, I refer to software that
can be used and experienced by people in everyday life. In other words, applications to make life simpler.
My main area of interest is web based applications because of the flexibility they offer. I envision a future where the desktop applications
of today are ported as web based applications to the cloud. People can access their favorite applications & files from anywhere in the world
without having to install a million different applications on their computers.
Apart from this, I am intent on developing such applications for Mobile OSes (Android, iOS) because it is, well, fascinating.
