Inferring User Search Goals
- Our proposed approach based on pseudo-documents constructed from user clicks and enriched with the documents additional textual contents including the titles and snippets are very effective at representing user search goals. Based on these pseudo-documents, user search goals can then be discovered using clustering methods and depicted with some keywords. Experimental results on user click-through logs from a commercial search engine demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed methods.
- We also extend the pseudo-document idea to the case of image search with similar peroformance improvements.
