Biography

Zsolt Kira is a Ph.D. candidate in the Mobile Robot Laboratory at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami in 2002 and Master's degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research heavily focuses on the application of learning algorithms to enable intelligent single-robot control, and coordination, communication, and transfer of knowledge in multi-robot systems consisting of heterogeneous platforms. He has published multiple first-author publications in the robotics community, received several awards such as the best student paper award at FLAIRS 2009, and has been invited to speak about his research at venues such as the Fifth International Cognitive Vision Workshop at IROS 2009 and the SPIE invited session on Information Fusion and Cognitive Robotics at the SPIE Defense and Security Symposium on Multisource, Multisensor Fusion Conference, 2010. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.
