From the Dean's Desk - April 24, 2020

Dear GT Computing colleagues,

Georgia Tech Dean of Computing Charles Isbell

As we move closer to the end of the semester, I want to take some time to gather together different groups within the college. I want to give everyone a chance to talk about where we are and what happens next even though we’re still building our picture of what that might be.

The semester is coming to a close with exams to grade, incompletes to process, and all the usual things that come at this time of year. I also am aware that the Schools are doing regular get-togethers of various sorts. I’d like to give everyone a little time to breathe, so I’m going to start with an online gathering for staff on  Friday, May 8 at 2 pm. No one is required to attend, but if you’d like a chance to ask questions and share concerns, we will be available. Keep an eye out for more as the time draws closer.

Do note that this meeting will not take the place of the quarterly staff meeting. We had to cancel the in-person meeting, but we will be rescheduling a virtual version soon, but I didn’t want to wait too long to sit down with y’all.

Later, after our collective academic schedules open up and we know more about how the fall will likely look, we will put together an academic-focused town hall.

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend. The best and smartest way for us to get through this is together, so take care of yourselves.

Peace.
