From the Dean's Desk - May 11, 2020

Dear GT Computing colleagues,

Georgia Tech Dean of Computing Charles Isbell

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating their mothers and motherhood over the weekend. If you are a mother, I hope you enjoyed being celebrated because you deserve it! I am unapologetically a mama’s boy, and so I’m always happy to celebrate my mom.

Speaking of celebration, we have a couple of our own coming up. Next week, on May 18 and 19, the College will hold virtual Dean’s New Alumni Ceremonies for both graduates and undergraduates (and an online virtual tour for OMSCS students will be held on May 20 which is kind of awesome, too).

The ceremony will look much like the Institute’s online graduation celebration, with a slide and a quote for each graduate. We will have opportunities for faculty and staff to join in and congratulate our graduates via chat, so please keep your eyes out for more information. Obviously we hope that these young alum will be able to return to campus for an in-person celebration, but in the meantime it is very important that we honor their achievements.

Until we see each other again, stay safe.

Peace.
