From the Dean's Desk – May 22, 2020

Dear GT Computing Colleagues,
It’s Friday, and not just Friday but the Friday before Memorial Day! I hope everyone has plans to enjoy the lovely days of the long (and hot) weekend.

First, though, I do have a little bit of business to share.

In OneUSG Connect, there is a new way to access practitioner pages, terminology you are completely familiar with. Previously, these pages were accessible through the Self-Service Portal; however, you now reach them through the new Core User Practitioner Access link.

Please be aware that this portal requires the campus VPN, not departmental VPN. You can find instructions for the campus VPN—as is the case for so many other things—on the College's business continuity site.
I also wanted to re-remind everyone that we are holding a faculty town hall next Thursday, May 28, from 3-4 pm. Please join us in BlueJeans for the event. We’re asking folks to submit questions ahead of time, but you will be able to ask questions through chat during the event itself. History suggests that waiting until then for everything, especially detailed everythings, ends up being a little haphazard, so sharing beforehand is closer to optimal.
Speaking of optimal, have a great holiday. I plan on enjoying my 1000-degree grill, and I hope that you also find something wonderful in the world to enjoy.
