From the Dean's Desk - May 8, 2020

Dear GT Computing Colleagues,

Georgia Tech Dean of Computing Charles Isbell

I want to thank every staff member (and I think a few others) who participated in our Casual Conversation this afternoon. It wasn’t as casual as it could have been, but at least it was a good conversation. I appreciate your questions, your feedback, and your support. It is tremendously helpful for us to hear from you during this difficult time.

As you know, we have received some top-level guidance from the USG. Unfortunately for everyone’s nerves, including my own, we are still weeks away from knowing everything we need to know to understand where we’re going to be. Still, I know and I hope you know, that there are many folks working really hard to make sure that we will end up in as good a place as we can. As we know more, you will know more.

As we come to the end of the week, please allow me to reiterate that the GT Computing community is my top priority. I am proud of the tremendous amount of work we have done this year. Real talk, we have a lot of work yet to do, but it is just as real that we will get through it together.

I hope you have a safe and restful weekend. I'll talk to you all again on Monday.

Peace.
