CS Tutor Request

If you are applying to be a tutor, then please fill out this form.

Please review the student expectations of tutoring before requesting a tutor: Student Expectations of Tutoring.

By requesting a tutor, you indicate that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the student expectations of tutoring.

Please use the CoC TA labs as well as other on campus tutoring resources in order to maximize your chances of success this semester.

Please schedule a tutor at least 24 hours in advance. Tutor requests that are made less than 24 hours in advance will not be honored. Section info limited to course registration for the current semester.

CS 1301, CS 1331, CS 1332, CS 2050, CS 2110, CS 2200, CS 3510, and Math 3012 are delivered in a traditional, in person format.

CSE 6040 (Python) is the only course that online tutoring is being offered for through this service at this time.

*Note: Tutoring is not designed to replace Teacher's Aids. Please use tutoring as a supplement to resources provided to you in class.


How to request a tutor:

1. Click on the blue banner at the bottom of the page labeled 'Click here to request a tutor for this semester.

It will bring you to the home page with 'Tutortrac Main Menu" within the gold banner in the center of the page.

On the tutoring home page, click on ‘select availability’.

The next screen is the start of the scheduling process.

This is the first screen for scheduling a tutor.

 

2. From the 'Center' drop down menu, select ‘CoC Tutoring’.

3. From the 'Section' Drop down menu, please select the Course you would like to receive tutoring for. Note this list will only show courses that you are enrolled in for the current semester.

4. From the 'Location' drop down menu, please select the 'Location' on campus that you would like to receive tutoring. The options are the College of Computing (CoC) Commons, The Klaus Advanced Computing Building, Clough Commons, The Student Center, the Library, and The Scheller College of Business.

5. Revise the parameters in which you would like to receive tutoring.

  • Adjusting the range will only display within the two dates you select.
  • Adjusting the time will only show times that you select.
  • Adjusting the days will only show the days you select.

6. Select 'search' to bring up the results of your selected criteria.

7. Select from the available sections that are displayed as a result of your search.

8. Once you have selected a section, a screen will pop up to confirm your booking.

Also provide your tutor with information about the topics you would like to discuss in tutoring via the 'notes' section.

You can also opt to be reminded of this session via text.

Feel free to email your tutor if you would like further confirmation of the session details, including date, time, location, and topics.

9. Wait a few moments and then check your email. You will receive a confirmation email that tutoring has been scheduled.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, then you do not have a confirmed tutor session.
