Short Bio

I am a third year PhD student in the School of Computer Science at Georgia Tech. My advisor is Prof. Ling Liu. Before coming to Tech, I obtained my MS in Computer Science from UCLA and my BS in Computer Science and Engineering from Sabanci University, Turkey.

My research focuses on security and privacy. My broader research interests include machine learning, data science, mobile computing, spatio-temporal data management, and big data analytics.

Here is my CV (last updated: November 2018). I'm also on Google Scholar.

Non-Academic Stuff

My full name is Mehmet Emre Gursoy, but I go by my middle name, Emre.

This is how I dealt with homework over the years, and this is how I feel about living in the US.

I was a (semi-)professional e-sports player in Turkey. I used to play the (in)famous Counter-Strike series. Before I moved to the US in 2013, I was contracted by HWA and sponsored by Logitech.
