This project helps teach STEM concepts with an audio-enabled version of the Lemonade Stand Game, in which visually impaired players (or any player that wants to experience a game that is sound dependent) need to manage their own stand while factoring in weather, local events, advertisement, and pricing in order to maximize profit for their business.
16 participants were asked to fill out an immersive tendencies questionnaire and then play a multiplayer game in virtual reality, augmented reality, and a non-stereoscopic hybrid. They were then asked to fill out a presence questionnaire after each play-through. An analysis of the results suggests that those scoring lower in immersive tendencies are likely to have higher perceived presence in virtual reality than augmented reality, but that those scoring higher in immersive tendencies may actually experience a greater sense of presence in augmented reality applications.
A virtual reality experience in a dystopian world. With Love, Thunderbird is the story of a woman, nick-named Thunderbird, Peter and the struggles they face living in a society ruined by an unsuccessful coup and a string of useless ‘presidents’ who only accomplished increasing the inflation and unemployment rates. You play as Peter, navigating your way through this new world with your small robotic bird guide, with one simple goal: get medicine for Thunderbird.
