Preface

In front of you lies a report that means a lot to me. This report lies at the crossing of many paths I walked and many paths I can choose from. Many paths end with this report, more paths start here.

This report is the final requirement for my Masters in Computer Science at the Technical University of Delft. This report ends the path of my life as a student. After the presentation of this report, I can no longer call myself a student. This report is the beginning of my life as a Master of Science. No longer I can hide behind the wall of the University, now I have to meet the real world.

This also concludes my stay at the Graphics, Visualization & Usability Center. There I did the research that is described in this report. I worked there for almost a year. Over the year, I learned a great deal. Now I have to show the real world what I learned. This is one of those paths you wished never ended.

But this report does not signal only endings. It is also the start of many new paths. Many new paths start here, many opportunities still undiscovered. One of those paths is to continue doing research at a university, the other looking for a career in industry. Besides these two, many more new paths will be found at this crossing.

This crossing is very important to me. It concludes a six year study, where I not only learned a lot about computers, but also about humans. This crossing is also a big question mark, where to go next?
