Keith Edwards is currently a Ph.D. student in the Graphics, Visualization and Usability Center (GVU) at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He works with the other scofflaws, miscreants, and ne'er-do-wells in the Multimedia Computing Group there. Keith also served time doing his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Georgia Tech.

Personal Details

Keith was born August 19, 1966, in Fredricksburg, VA. He grew up in Chattanooga, TN. He has done summer internships in Calfornia a number of times: once at Olivetti Research Center (in Menlo Park, CA), once at Sun Microsystems Laboratories, and once at SunSoft (both in Mountain View, CA).

Recent outside-the-country travels include Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, and France.

Keith is a Leo and his favorite color is blue.

Research Interests

Keith's main research topic is the definition and development of toolkits for collaborative, multi-user applications. He is currently writing his dissertation on this topic, and is building a prototype system, called Intermezzo, which demonstrates some of the concepts he is working on.

Some of Keith's previous projects have included:

Montage, an extensible multimedia electronic mail system.
Mercator, a non-visual interface to graphical applications.
