Alan Rauch

Associate Chair and Associate Professor
School of Literature, Communication and Culture

Alan Rauch is an associate chair and associate professor in the School of Literature, Communication and Culture. He has a Ph.D. and master's degree in English literature from Rutgers University. Alan has a science background also with a master's degree in zoology from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor's degree in biology from McGill University. His research reflects both his English and science education, with interests in Victorian, Romantic and children's literature, science and literature, scientific and technical writing, the novel, sociology of knowledge, the cultural status of zoos and cultural identities.
