Base level XFS will be bundled with the next major revision of the operating system and become part of the Varsity packages at that time. IRIS Explorer ------------- In mid 1994, Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) signed an agreement with Numerical Algorithm Group (NAG) to transition the development, sales and support for the Explorer product, over to NAG. SGI and NAG are co-developing Explorer 3.0 for general release in the first half of calendar 1995, which will be sold and supported only by NAG. You should contact NAG directly about acquiring and supporting version 3.0. SGI will continue to ship Explorer 2.x with the IRIX 5.3 operating system. SGI will also support, with phone technical assistance, and limited patches and bug fixes, the 2.x Explorer for any customer with an SGI support agreement through the end of calendar 1995. We recommend though that customers contact NAG to inquire about the best time and method to transition to Explorer 3.0. NAG can be contacted in the US at the following address: IRIS Explorer Center 1400 Opus Place, Suite 200 Downer's Grove, IL 60515-5702 phone# (708)971-2367 email: infodesk@nag.com WWW: http://www.nag.co.uk:70/1h/Welcome.IEC In Search of SGI-based Courseware/Curriculum Sites -------------------------------------------------- If your department has developed SGI-based courseware or has acquired software that assists in teaching students about a specific topic (i.e. Chemistry, Calculus), SGI is interested in talking to you.
