Previous Positions
Before rejoining the staff of the
College of Computing
(it was the School of Information and Computer
Science when he was a student and a Systems Support Specialist),
Peter worked at Atlanta-based
Medical Systems Development Corporation (MsdC)
as a senior systems programmer on a project to build a large-scale
UNIX-based medical information system. Before working at MsdC,
Peter was a Vice President
at Computer Systems Resources, Inc. (CSRI), an Atlanta-based
consulting/training company which built a law office automation
system on UNIX-based computers.
Research Interests
Peter's research interests include Berkeley-based operating systems
(at home, he uses the system distributed by
Berkeley Software Design, Inc.);
computer and network security (check out the archives for
COAST);
cryptosystems (especially public key/asymmetric systems like
PGP);
and distributed software maintenance (with packages like depot,
lude, or lfu).
