projectpic missing   Live-Virtual Training Integration
This project is an effort to integrate live military training exercises with virtual training simulations. Our initial work will take place in an instrumented training facility at Fort Benning, Georgia, where live soldiers are instrumented and tracked as they operate within a mock village. These live "entities" can be exported into the virtual world and be "seen" by soldiers using a virtual training simulation running concurrently. Currently the live soldiers have no means of tracking events taking place in the virtual world. We propose to develop a visualization system to provide soldiers in the physical training space some level of situational awareness of the virtual training space. Future work would incorporate inputs from actual Battle Command systems for operational use.
