Configuration Tasks

  1. Install the web server
  2. Restart SQL server
  3. Start the web server
  4. CQ Engine Configuration
  5. Install CRON
  6. Install the CQ Engine as an NT service
  7. Configure the database
  8. Configure ODBC
  9. Check CQ server operation

To configure the CQ system, several tasks must be completed.  These tasks are listed in the suggested order that they should be done.  Click the "Next" button to start the configuration process.  Each task will run until there is input required from the user.

The steps that are highlighted require user input:

CQ Engine Configuration requires :

  1. the host name of the local SMTP mail server.  This is required for email notification, and for administrator alerts.  You can get a SMTP mail server from NT Server Resource Kit, available from Microsoft.
  2. Email address of the local administrator for the CQ system.

Another GUI will appear allowing you to enter in the required parameters. After you finish entering the configurations, press the "Save" button and configuration will continue.

Configure the database requires:

  1. Adminstrator username and password for the local SQL Server

Only during configuration and uninstallation does the CQ system need the Administrator password.  All other times it uses the account created during the configuration step.

After all the tasks have been finished, click the "Finish" button. This will check to ensure that none of the tasks have been skipped and that none of the tasks obviously failed.
