Motivation
Peer-to-peer architectures are very
promising as a solution to general problems that arise in client/server
architectures.
That is,
servers
form
a central point of failure, become performance bottleneck, lack scalability, and
require powerful hardware systems causing economic burden.
Peer-to-peer architectures help to solve these problems and they proved to be
successful in domains like file sharing and distributed computing. We expect
that a peer-to-peer system designed for CQs will outperform a traditional
client/server based approach. PeerCQ system is expected to be highly scalable,
self-organizing and support efficient and robust way of processing CQs.
