DISL

The Distributed Data Intensive Systems Lab (DiSL) is a research lab in the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. It is also a part of the Center for Experimental Computer Systems Research (CERCS) at Georgia Tech.

DiSL offers research expertise in distributed and Internet computing systems and distributed data intensive systems. Most of the research projects conducted in DiSL have strong emphasis on systems issues such as scalability, reliability, security, availability, and efficiency. We are interested in theories and techniques that not only make the distributed systems scalable and efficient but also reliable and secure. Our most active research areas are mobile computing systems, scalability and security issues in massively distributed overlay networks, and lagre scale data access and data integration systems. The application domains that we are currently working on include eCommerce, business grids, Bioinformatics, Geographical information systems, and emergency response networks.
