VISUAL ARTS LEARNING SPACE
Located on the main floor of the Museum, the Visual Arts Learning Space
will function as an introduction to the fundamental elements of art for viewers
of all ages, entitled "See for Yourself." Interactive multimedia programs,
designed by the High in collaboration with Georgia Tech Multimedia
Technology Laboratory, will employ works of art from the permanent
collection to illustrate the concepts of line, color, light and composition. As
they explore these concepts, manipulating various images through computer
technology, visitors will develop a deeper understanding of the artistic process,
enhancing their viewing experience in the newly-reinstalled permanent
collection galleries. "See for Yourself" opens in mid-April.

Education Programs for the Visual Arts Learning Space are made possible
by Publix Super Markets Charities. Generous in-kind support for "See for
Yourself" and its interactive multimedia programs has been provided by the
IBM Corporation.  Additional funding has been provided by the Eleanor
McDonald Storza Exhibition Endowment and the Vera A. Milner Memorial
Endowment for Children's Exhibitions. Support for the renovation of the
Visual Arts Learning Space has been provided by by SunTrust Bank, Atlanta,
and the English, Marshall and Rich Memorial Funds.
