(born in France, 1779-1819)
New York City, ca. 1815

This card table is the work of the master
furniture maker Charles-Honore Lannuier, a
French immigrant who had trained in Paris.
Lannuier is among the many European-trained
craftsmen credited with bringing the latest
Parisian Empire taste to New York, which was
surpassing Philadelphia as America's major
urban center in the early nineteenth century.
