This painting of a married couple from Greek
mythology depicts a dramatic moment that
ultimately leads to their deaths. Oenone begs
her husband, Paris, not to leave for Troy. His
subsequent abduction of Helen led to the
Trojan War, his death, and Oenone's suicide.
