Mattie Lou O'Kelley grew up on a hill farm in Banks
County, Georgia. This rural background is the inspiration
for her paintings, which evoke a land of childhood home
long ago. Her themes-family, home, harvest, birth, death,
and the spiritual pleasures of rural life-are painted from
her memories embellished with imagination.
