Commissioned by the High Museum of Art
to take photographs in Georgia in conjunction
with the 1996 Olympic Games, Sally Mann
photographed Savannah and the nearby coastal
areas. Her abstracted landscapes have an indistinct
quality that makes them resemble photographs
from an earlier age.
