Graduate

Current GT PhD Students: We are interested in students with a strong background in both computer science and electrical/computer engineering. Much of our microarchitecture research cuts across multiple layers of abstraction from transistor-level implementation issues up through compiler and operating systems interaction. Ideally, you will have a strong mix of both CS and EE/ECE backgrounds, but we are interested in anyone who is exceptionally bright (you can always take a few courses to fill in on other areas). It will also tremendously help if you are a competent C/C++ hacker. If you are interested, send email first to schedule an appointment. Make sure your email includes an up-to-date and non-generic resume/CV. The subject of the email must contain the string "[STING-PHD]".

Availability of research positions (whether as a GRA or for credit under a special problem) varies from semester to semester, depending on available resources (e.g., time and grants).

Note for crrent MS Students please see this note.

External Applicants: You must first go through the official admissions procedure. Prior to officially receiving an offer from Georgia Tech, we are completely unable to make any promises of funding, advisement, or admission. After you have been accepted, please contact us if you are interested in contributing to cutting-edge microarchitecture research! You must include the string "[STING-PHD]" in all email correspondances, otherwise your email may simply get filtered as spam.

Undergraduate

There are opportunities for GT undergraduate students to get involved with our research group though the GT/CoC UROC program. Our group has had projects that have won awards at the annual UROC Symposium (2005, 2006) with prizes including Intel Axim Palmtop computers and cash! (Although we hope you're not interested in research only for the prizes and money.) If you are interested, please send an email.

Post-Doctoral

We are currently not actively looking for post-docs.
