AAAI-98 Robot Exhibition
Call for Participation
July 26-30, 1998, Madison, Wisconsin
Sponsored by the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
Co-Chairs:
Tucker Balch
and
Karen Haigh
Mission Statement
- Have you wanted to bring a robot to AAAI, but don't have the
resources to devote to programming a contest entry?
- Does your robot hardware not fit into the competition tasks?
- Do you want to enter the contest, but would also like to
demonstrate the other work that you've been doing on your robot?
- Do you just want to show off your robot?
The mission of the Robot Exhibition is to showcase current research in robotics
that does not fit into the competition tasks. We welcome robot demos
(scheduled or continuous), robot-oriented software demos,
posters with or without robots present, and
videos. You are welcome to participate in the exhibition as well as the
competition(s).
We hope to attract robots of all kinds. We would like to expose the AI
community to as much variety as possible. We encourage outdoor
robots such as helicopters and autonomous vehicles, and all forms of
indoor robots including snakes, manipulators, and bipeds. Robots that
interact with crowds are also encouraged.
If it proves impossible to send your actual robot, please submit a video or
a poster. Feel free to send a video as well as a robot!
Facilities
Depending on the needs of exhibitors for specific demonstrations
