Later, we went to a huge toystore in Ginza. We spent hours playing with japanese toys.

Mr. Soccer. Remote control robot soccer. I brought home "Japan vs. Brazil" for Thomaz!

Apple store in Ginza. I took this picture for Thomaz.

Sunday we went to another area of town, and found another million people :)
IMG_1948.JPG
There was some parade happening. We tried to ask what it was for, but didn't really find out exactly.
IMG_1951.JPG
This is the area of town that all the kids dress up and walk around in costumes on Sunday. So we saw a few little bo peep girls like this.
IMG_1952.JPG
We went to a cool art museum.
IMG_1953.JPG
They made us take off our shoes.
IMG_1954.JPG
We found this crazy performance art band when we were wandering around. They attracted quite a crowd!

On our last evening, we went for shabu shabu dinner, and got a private tatami mat room.

Here's the woman that prepared everything for us, and showed us what to do.

On monday I was off to Korea. The conference was at Jeju island off the southwest coast of South Korea.
IMG_1964.JPG
The view from my hotel, it was super fancy.

IMG_1966.JPG
One afternoon, I ditched the conference sessions with a friend and explored the island a bit. We found this authentic place for lunch.
IMG_1967.JPG
They brought us all these little things.
IMG_1968.JPG
And cooked us some meat at our table.
IMG_1969.JPG
Then cut it up with scissors, and we ate the pieces wrapped in lettuce leaves. It was good!
IMG_1970.JPG
Then we wandered around the "Folk Villages"
IMG_1971.JPG
We think they had everything set as it was in the old days on Jeju.
IMG_1973.JPG
IMG_1976.JPG
And they encouraged you to try it out.
IMG_1977.JPG
I'm pretty sure this was lunch...
IMG_1974.JPG
These dudes must be the mascots of Jeju island, because you see them everywhere.
IMG_1980.JPG
After the village we found a walking trail along the coast.
