The Role of the Caregiver

A family member or caregiver who has regular contact with the patient must be available to participate. The caregiver will assist with the participant's adherence to treatment and provide information during the study.

What is expected from the caregiver:

1) Caregivers who operate the device must be present for the initial training with investigators.

2) Review the user manual (located under the important documents heading in the right column) and understand how to properly operate the device.

3) Monitor the participant's body temperature before using the device and the subect's blood pressure before and after using the device. Ensure that these measurements are normal for the subject before operating the device.

4) Immediately report any side effects from using the device. Minor side effects may be reported via the side effects form on the website. If more serious side effects are observed, study investigators should be contacted via telephone.

5) Caregivers should be comfortable operating computers.
