Research

My interests are virtual reality and real-time computer graphics; as well as psychophysics and perceptual psychology and their application in these fields. I've also worked on low-level, efficient algorithms for the rendering of quadratic and cubic parametric curves. I research with the GVU Center's Virtual Environments Group.

Projects:

Level of detail management

How do different frame rate means, variances, and frequencies affect users?

Level of detail management

Trading detail in the periphery for graphics performance. A win for users?

VR to treat phobias

Can we use VR to treat fear of heights? Fear of flying?

Real-time distortion correction

What can we do about the distortion in head-mounted display optics?

Level of detail generation
Given a complex model, how to reduce detail while preserving recognizeability?

Fast cubic curve rendering
Integer only algorithms for drawing parametric cubics
