Reflections of Faith

Another important function of art--perhaps its oldest and most prolific--has been to explore man's relationship to God, exalting the spiritual through artistic expression. Works such as Giovanni Bellini's Madonna and Child and Benny Andrews's depiction of a Baptist revival service, both featured in "Reflections of Faith," are examples of artists' ideas about religion, conveyed in dramatically different artistic styles.
