 Undergraduate Restrictions

Summer and Fall Semester- Phase 1 Registration

Summer 2014 Semester:

Major restrictions will be lifted on the following courses by Noon on Tuesday, April 8th.

CS Courses- CS 1331, CS 1332, CS 2050, CS 2110, CS 2200, CS 2316, CS 2340, CS 3510, CS 3790, CS 4001, CS 4235, CS 4261, CS 4290, CS 4400, CS 4455, CS 4590

Restrictions not on list above will not be lifted.

CS Minors-Students listed in OSCAR as official CS minors can request a permit for one course by emailing 

cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu.  To register for additional courses, major restrictions will be lifted at Noon on Tuesday, April 8th.

For classes restricted to Juniors and Seniors, students must be Juniors (60 credit hours) or Seniors (90 credit hours) at the time of registration. 

Summer Undergraduate Overloads

Request an Overload-When all sections of a CS course are full, students may apply for an overload permit through the registration menu on OSCAR.  Overload requests will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th. Students will be notified by e-mail when decisions are made. 

Overloads given during Phase I Registration must be used by the end of Phase I, 4 p.m. on April 25th. 

Changing Major/Declaring CS Minor

*Advisors cannot meet with change of major or minor students during registration.

Change of Major- Students interested in changing or declaring a double major in CS must attend a Change of Major meeting.  Sign up for the Change of Major meeting online at:  http://www.cc.gatech.edu/node/add/major-change .

Declaring a CS Minor-Completion of CS 1331 is required to declare the CS minor. 

Students interested in declaring a minor can do so by visiting an advisor during walk-in hours from 9am-11:30am prior to registration.

 

Fall 2014 Semester:

Major restrictions will be lifted on the following courses by Noon on Wednesday, April 9th.

CS Courses- CS 1332, CS 2050, CS 2051, CS 2110, CS 2200, CS 2261, CS 2316, CS 2340, CS 3210, CS 3220, CS 3251, CS 3300, CS 3451, CS 3510, CS 3600, CS 3651, CS 3750, CS 3790, CS 4001, CS 4210, CS 4220, CS 4235, CS 4240, CS 4261, CS 4270, CS 4290, CS 4400A, CS 4400B, CS 4420, CS 4455, CS 4460, CS 4470, CS 4495, CS 4510, CS 4540, CS 4635, CS 4649, CS 4650

CX Courses- CX 4140 and CX 4640

Major restrictions will be lifted for CS 1301 and CS 1331 by noon on August 15th (Phase II Registration).

Class restrictions will be lifted on the following courses by noon on Thursday, April 10th.

CS 1301, CS 1315, CS 1371

IE Majors-should take CS 1301 during Spring Semester 2015.  Jr/Sr IE majors with extenuating circumstances can email cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu for consideration.  The student should explain why the course is needed fall semester and why it has not been taken yet.

Restrictions not on list above will not be lifted.

CS Minors-Students listed in OSCAR as official CS minors can request one permit at cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu.

To register for more than one CS course, minor students may register after the major restrictions are lifted (see above).

Degree Candidate for Fall 2014 who need a permit for freshmen/sophomore restricted classes will need to have their advisor email cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu. to confirm degree candidate status.

If you require an overload, you should attend class for the first week and speak to the instructor.  No overload requests will be accepted via OSCAR.

Fall 2014 Semester:

Concentration restrictions will be removed by noon on April 14, 2014 for all classes except CS 6265, CS 6266, CS 6451, CS 6452, and CS 6750.

Major restrictions will be removed by noon on April 21, 2014 for all classes except CS 6265, CS 6266, CS 6451, CS 6452, and CS 6750.
