Phase 2 Registration for Fall 2014 Semester:
For classes restricted to Juniors and Seniors, students must be Juniors (60 credit hours) or Seniors (90 credit hours) at the time of registration.
Freshmen FASETs: seats are restricted to AE, BCHM, CE, CHEM, CMPE, EE, ENVE, MSE, and PFE majors
Transfer FASETs: seats are restricted to AE, BCHM, CE, CHEM, CMPE, EE, ENVE, MSE, PFE, APHY, BIO, BMED, CHBE, EAS, ME, NRE, PHYS, and PSY majors.
Current Students: any open seats will be available by noon on Friday, August 15th.
Freshmen and Transfer FASETs: seats are restricted to APHY, BCHM, BIO, CHEM, CM, CS, DMTH, EAS, MATH, PHYS, PSY majors.
Current Students: major restrictions will be lifted and open seats will be available by noon on Friday, August 15th.
IE Majors-should take CS 1301 during Spring Semester 2015. Jr/Sr IE majors with extenuating circumstances can email cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu for consideration. The student should explain why the course is needed fall semester and why it has not been taken yet.
Major restrictions will be lifted by noon on Friday, August 15th.
Freshmen and Transfer FASETs: seats are restricted to IE majors
Current Students: major restrictions and any open seats will be available by noon on Friday, August 15th.
Requesting an Overload-When all sections of a CS course are full, students may apply for an overload permit through the registration menu on OSCAR. Overload requests will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 18th. Students will be notified by e-mail when decisions are made.
Overloads given during Phase 2 Registration must be used by 4 p.m. on August 22nd.
Changing Major/Declaring CS Minor
*Advisors cannot meet with change of major or minor students during registration.
Change of Major- Students interested in changing or declaring a double major in CS must attend a Change of Major meeting. Sign up for the Change of Major meeting online at: http://www.cc.gatech.edu/node/add/major-change .
Declaring a CS Minor-Completion of CS 1331 is required to declare the CS minor.
Students interested in declaring a minor can do so by visiting an advisor the week before registration or the week following registration.
Fall Semester, Phase 2 Registration:
Courses will remain Cohort Restricted (meaning returning graduate student cannot register) until 10AM on Thursday, August 14.
Courses will remain Major Restricted until 5PM on Friday, August 15.
Most courses will open for any major by 5PM on Friday, August 15.
Major restrictions will NOT be removed from the following courses: CS 6265, CS 6266, CS 6451, CS 6452, CS 6750, CSE 6040
If you require an overload for a course that is closed, you should attend class for the first week and speak to the instructor. No overload requests will be accepted via OSCAR.
