Undergraduate Restrictions
Summer Semester 2013
Class restrictions will not be lifted on CS 4001. Class restrictions on all other undergraduate CS courses will be lifted by noon Monday, April 8.
Major restrictions will be lifted by noon Monday, April 8.
For classes restricted to juniors and seniors, students must be juniors (60 credit hours) or seniors (90 credit hours) at the time they register for those classes.
Summer degree candidates and students who are listed in OSCAR as CS minors may request permits by e-mailing cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu. These requests should always include the student's GT ID, as well as the subject code and course number (e.g., CSE 6740). All other students must wait until restrictions are removed; permit requests by those students will not be approved.
Fall Semester 2013
Major restrictions will be lifted on the following CS courses by noon Monday, April 8:
1332, 2050, 2051, 2110, 2200, 2261, 2340, 3210, 3251, 3300, 3451, 3510, 3600, 3750, 3790, 4001, 4140, 4210, 4220, 4235, 4240, 4261, 4290, 4400, 4420, 4455, 4460, 4470, 4495, 4510, 4540, 4635, 4642, 4649, 4650, 4777, 4803-MPG
Class restrictions will be lifted by noon Monday, April 8, on CS 1301, 1315, and 1371.
Major restrictions will be lifted by noon Wednesday, August 14 (Phase II Registration) on CS 2316.
Major restrictions will be lifted by noon Friday, August 16 (Phase II Registration) on CS 1301 and 1331.
Restrictions will not be lifted on any undergraduate CS course not listed above.
Fall degree candidates and students who are listed in OSCAR as CS minors may request permits for two courses that meet minor requirements by e-mailing cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu. These requests should always include the student's GT ID, as well as the subject code and course number (e.g., CSE 6740). All other students must wait until restrictions are removed; permit requests by those students will not be approved. Permits will be entered Tuesday, April 9.
For classes restricted to juniors and seniors, students must be juniors (60 credit hours) or seniors (90 credit hours) at the time of registration.
IE majors should take CS 1301 during Spring Semester 2014. IE juniors and seniors with extenuating circumstances should e-mail cc-undergraduatepermits [at] lists [dot] gatech [dot] edu for consideration. These requests should include the GT ID and explain why the course is needed in Fall Semester 2013 and why it has not already been taken.
Undergraduate Overloads
Summer Semester 2013
Overload requests for all CS courses must be made through the Registration menu of OSCAR.
OSCAR will accept overload requests until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. CoC will review requests on May 15, and students will be notified by e-mail when decisions are made.
Fall Semester 2013
Overload requests for all CS courses must be made through the Registration menu of OSCAR.
OSCAR will accept overload requests until 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 8. CoC will review requests on April 9, and students will be notified by e-mail when decisions are made.
Graduate Restrictions
Summer Semester 2013
Major restrictions will be lifted by noon Wednesday, April 10.
Fall Semester 2013
April 1 to April 12 (1 p.m.)
Each CS and CSE course will be open to:
- All CoC PhD students who can count that course toward their degree requirements (see http://www.cc.gatech.edu/current/doctoral for links to degree requirements), including ACO, CSE, and ROBO students whose home College is not CoC
- All MSCS students who can count that course as a Core or Elective class in their specialization (see http://www.cc.gatech.edu/future/masters/mscs/program for specialization courses)
- All MS students in BIOE, CSE, HCI, and INFS who can count that course toward their degree requirements (see http://www.cc.gatech.edu/current/masters for links to degree requirements), including students whose home College is not CoC
April 12 (1 p.m.) to April 22 (8 a.m.)
- All CoC PhD students, including ACO, CSE, and ROBO students whose home College is not CoC
- All MSCS students
- All MS students in the BIOE, CSE, HCI, and INFS programs, including students whose home College is not CoC
- Some courses are restricted only to students in particular degree programs. These restrictions will not be lifted
April 22 (8 a.m.) to April 26 (4 p.m.)
