Biography

Veronica Rivera is an assistant professor at the Georgia Tech School of Cybersecurity and Privacy starting Fall 2026. Her research is in human-centered security and privacy. She uses empirical and design methods to make digital technologies safer and more equitable for everyone. She publishes at top-tier conferences in security and privacy and human-computer interaction.    Previously, Veronica was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy, working with Yixin Zou, and at Stanford University, working with Zakir Durumeric. She received her PhD in Computational Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her BS in Computer Science and Math from Harvey Mudd College.
