Statement of Research Interests:

My research focuses on large-scale internet measurement and the characterization of network infrastructure to improve our understanding of internet reliability and performance. I am particularly interested in understanding the physical and logical layers of the internet—-from submarine cables to routing protocols—-to detect outages and quantify the impact of connectivity disruptions. Broadly, I seek to deepen our understanding of the Internet infrastructure, often with a focus on the end-user perspective, and using this knowledge to help build a better, more resilient Internet.

Keywords: Computer networks; Internet measurement; Internet infrastructure; broadband networks; network reliability; distributed systems; content distribution; peer-to-peer systems; Internet-scale system design; deployment and measurement

Statement of Teaching Interests:

My teaching focuses on Internet measurement, with a particular interest in integrating multiple network, and often interdisciplinary, datasets to improve our understanding of the Internet. I emphasize hands-on research and supervise student projects that build on the IODA (Internet Outage Detection and Analysis) platform. Through this work, students develop a deep understanding of computer networking and research methodologies as they apply domain knowledge to improve IODA.
