I take a holistic, concept-first approach to teaching that emphasizes high-level thinking, motivation, and comparison across ideas. My classes prioritize active engagement. Courses are designed in alignment with clear learning objectives, and are continuously improved using student feedback. Supporting student success is a priority in my classroom.

Included oral assessments as part of final course grade in order to improve students' communication skills, increase integrity on take-home assignments, and more thoroughly evaluate student mastery of course material.
